Responsible Gambling at Tipsport Vegas: Rights, Tools and Prevention
What is Responsible Gambling
Responsible gambling means a conscious and controlled approach to gambling, aiming to minimise the risks associated with excessive play and to prevent the development of addiction. According to §§ 13–16 zákon č. 186/2016 Sb., gambling operators, including Tipsport.net a.s., are required to provide players with tools and information that enable safe and responsible gambling. These obligations include, for example, the ability to set financial and time limits, information about risks and self-exclusion options, and the protection of minors.
Responsible gambling requires an active approach not only from the operator but also from the player themselves. It is important to monitor your own behaviour and recognise any warning signs of problematic gambling in a timely manner.
Warning Signs of Problem Gambling
Problem gambling can develop subtly. Pay attention to the following warning signs:
- Repeatedly exceeding your own financial limits or borrowing money to gamble.
- The need to gamble more frequently or for higher amounts.
- Neglecting work, study or family responsibilities due to gambling.
- Continuing to gamble despite negative consequences (such as debt, conflicts).
- Concealing gambling from close persons.
- Feeling restless, irritable or anxious when unable to gamble.
- Trying to win back lost money by gambling more (“chasing losses”).
- Deterioration of mental or physical health in connection with gambling.
If you notice any of these signs in yourself or others, we recommend using available prevention tools or seeking professional help.
Tools for Gambling Control
Tipsport Vegas offers, in accordance with §§ 15–16 zákon č. 186/2016 Sb., various tools for controlling and limiting gambling. These tools are available in the user account of every registered player.
Deposit Limits (daily, weekly, monthly)
Players can set a maximum amount that can be deposited to their gaming account per day, week or month. Once the limit is reached, no further deposits can be made until the set period has expired.
Bet and Loss Limits
It is possible to restrict the maximum amount of bets or net losses over a chosen period. Once the limit is reached, the system will not allow further bets or play.
Time Limit and Reality Check
Players can set the maximum time allowed for gambling per day or week. This also includes a reality check – a regular notification about the elapsed time spent playing.
Time-out (24 hours, 7 days, 30 days)
Temporary exclusion from gambling for a chosen period. During a time-out, login and participation in games is not possible. After the period expires, the account becomes active again.
All limits can be set, reduced or cancelled directly in the user account. Increasing limits is only possible after a protection period of at least 24 hours.
Self-Exclusion and Application for Exclusion
Every player has the right, under § 16 and § 16b zákon č. 186/2016 Sb., to request the operator for temporary or permanent exclusion from participation in gambling. The request can be submitted via the user account or through the gambling operator.
Entry into the Register of Excluded Persons (RVO) applies to all gambling operators in the Czech Republic. Removal from the RVO is possible no earlier than one year after registration.
Register of Excluded Persons (RVO)
The Register of Excluded Persons (RVO) is maintained by the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic (Ministerstvo financí ČR) in accordance with § 131 zákon č. 186/2016 Sb.. Persons who have requested exclusion, or those excluded by law (for example, persons subject to enforcement proceedings, insolvency, or receiving certain benefits, etc.) are entered into the RVO.
Ways to apply for entry into the RVO:
- Via the user account with the gambling operator.
- By activating the panic button and subsequently confirming the application.
- Via the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic (Ministerstvo financí ČR) data box.
- In person at Czech POINT.
Once entered in the RVO, it is not possible to participate in gambling with any licensed operator in the Czech Republic.
Protection of Minors
Gambling in the Czech Republic is only permitted for persons over 18 years of age (§ 46 zákon č. 186/2016 Sb.). The operator is required to verify the age and identity of every player, for example via BankID or other verification methods. Participation by minors is strictly prohibited and is checked both at registration and when withdrawing winnings.
